Photo Manipulation and Ethics

1.  Some of the main points i read talking about manipulating images is that if you change the emotion or the actions in the photo, its unethical. Also some articles who use photoshop heavily are sometimes frowned upon, but it is becoming more mainstream i guess you could say and most pictures, even if its not obvious, could be "photoshopped".

2. One of the philosophy of newspapers regarding manipulation is that some of them cannot alter the colors of the pictures, which i think is a good thing, because some articles will alter the colors greatly and just ruin the picture.

3. I think changing the color of the persons skin isn't crossing the line, unless its very obvious and too overboard. Also maybe just changing the color of the background wouldn't matter much, but reshaping someones body greatly, thats what i think isn't ethical.

I think this photo is the most unethical. I think this because they made her more thin and less orange. I think the old camera might have made her skin that shade of orange but the making of her more thin isn't ethical at all in my opinion.

I think this one is the least unethical because it doesn't "harm" anything or anyone in the picture. It isn't also really telling a fake story and tricking you into thinking anything false. All that it is doing is adding a person in the picture. Those reason are also why it is better than the first manipulated picture.
